All Westland boat covers come standard with sewn-in fuzzy reinforcement at critical wear points, two sewn-in vents for breathability, and an unbreakable rope for a secure fit. But what makes the difference between choosing an Exact Fit® or a Select Fit® cover for your boat? Exact Fit® Cover Basics

Exact Fit® covers from Westland are patterned to exactly fit boats from over 150 manufacturers, with some dating back as far as the 1980s. Our sister company, Great Lakes Boat Top, designed the original canvas for these boats and provides Westland with the original patterns which we use to measure, tuck, dart, and sew each Exact Fit® cover to perfection. The tighter fit we can achieve on your boat, the better protected it will be for years to come. For this reason, we always recommend choosing an Exact Fit® cover if possible.

Our Exact Fit® covers are offered in three premium fabric options (Sharkskin® Plus, Sharkskin® Supreme, and Sunbrella®) and a wide variety of colors so you can find the perfect one to complement your vessel.

Select Fit® Cover Basics

Select Fit® covers, on the other hand, are offered for boat models for which we don’t have exact patterns. Instead, these covers are patterned based on your boat’s style and options to get the closest possible fit. A rope is then used to pull the boat cover tight and create a seal against the elements. Unlike our competitors who offer covers in two-foot increments, Westland’s Select Fit® covers are patterned in one-foot increments to give you more options with less excess fabric.

Similar to our Exact Fit® options, all Select Fit® boat covers are available in the same selection of premium marine-grade fabrics to ensure the best protection for your boat.
